Method

10 steps
  1. Boil the potatoes until tender, then drain thoroughly.

  2. Mash with butter, milk and black pepper.

  3. Meanwhile, heat the oil and cook the onion and carrots for 7 minutes.

  4. Add the mince and brown it thoroughly.

  5. Add the AL Mix and tomato purée. Cook for 2 minutes.

  6. Pour in the stock and Worcestershire sauce.

  7. Simmer for 15 minutes until thick, then add the peas.

  8. Transfer to a baking dish and spread the mash over the top.

  9. Roughen the surface with a fork and add cheddar if desired.

  10. Bake at 200°C fan for 20–25 minutes until bubbling and golden.
